ArtSQUAD
ArtSQUAD develops creativity, artistic skills, collaboration, and appreciation for visual arts through diverse media, technology, projects, and community experiences.
Overview
ArtSQUAD brings together gentlemen with a passion for Visual Arts to learn, explore and create. Through hands-on experiences with different art forms, media and technologies, our gentlemen develop their artistic skills, creativity and confidence. They also have opportunities to engage with practising artists, participate in arts experiences beyond school and collaborate with their peers. Through these experiences, ArtSQUAD nurtures a deeper appreciation of the arts and an understanding of how art connects us to the community, society and the world we live in.
Activities
Our gentlemen explore a range of artistic processes and contemporary art practices through some of these activities across the year to name a few:
3D Printing – exploring digital design and transforming ideas into three-dimensional forms
Ceramics – exploring clay, form modelling and sculpting
Digital Illustration – using digital tools and techniques to develop creative ideas and artworks
Printmaking – experimenting with materials and processes to create unique prints and visual compositions
Learning Journeys – engaging with practising artists and participating in arts activities beyond school
Arts Ambassadorship – facilitating arts experiences for peers e.g. Art@Recess, PAMboree recess activities
Values-in-Action (VIA)
ArtSQUAD encourages gentlemen to use their creativity and artistic skills to connect with and contribute to the wider community. In past VIA experiences, our gentlemen have befriended and interacted with the elderly through art and craft sessions, creating opportunities for meaningful connection through art. We have also collaborated with the Volleyball CCA to host youths, engaging them in simple sports and craft activities and fostering friendship, teamwork and shared experiences.
Milestones & Achievements
CCA members participate in various art competitions, including the Singapore Youth Festival. Over the years, ArtSQUAD members have been recognised for their artistic talents and achievements, including receiving the Certificate of Recognition (Special Mention) at the SYF Art Exhibition.
